This will be my opening blog as I don't know where I can set one up ( so naive hehe)

Having seen wlleiotl be so successful over this last year has made me decide to play better poker. This includes actually re looking over hands like I once did, finally have bankroll management, and not play cash if I'm feeling a bit low in the mood, if I do play cash ill play well and sensibly (as in the past I have been so enthralled by making good plays in cash that I forgot the value of money, and I wasn't playing poker to win money but for the buzz of making good marginal decisions.

Wlleiotl and Parsy night before last between them, under the same roof won over 30k playing mtt's. having been parented by them to play poker I have a duty to myself to get as good as they do at mtt's where I believe that I have the potential and ability to become a very good poker player. over the last 2 years I have won like so many tournaments but gone and blown my money, for some reason I didn’t listen to myself and just play tournaments where I have been obviously successful but would go and gamble and enjoy the buzz of playing better players on 5/10 nl and 10/20 nl, without a bankroll I have obviously consistently failed at making money at these levels. Mtts are the way to go, and I've started today by coming 2nd in the 5k where I got sicked 4 way with 3/1 advantage for 50% of chips in play.

I didn’t take advantage enough of being around quality stars like Elliot and Parsy as they are both utterly world class poker players when I was at Keele. In all honesty since leaving Keele where all I did was poker my game has deteriorated so badly and I became a non profitable player. Having not coped well with a break-up and also failing my degree due to zero attendance and missing an opportunity in the Bahamas I became a distance reflection of my bubbly annoyingly nice self by becoming a bit depressed anxty and also incredibly fat. as my life deteriorated my game was effected badly and I lost every time I would build a 2k roll from a freeroll in a 2 days then try and gamble it up like a mofo. At this point poker was yo-yoing for me as was my happiness levels. I also let down two close friends where I had made deals with them built a roll but lost cash without permission, to say I didn’t feel too good about myself would be the biggest understatement ever, I had become a degenerate gambler, and in all honesty my mindset has only really been fixed due to this weeks events. In this time though I was able to win like £7k that went to clear off my debts, but wasn’t able to really have a nice lifestyle as I was constantly clearing off past debts from the first 2 years of living in uni in Keele.

For the last 8 weeks a good mate of mine who has done very well for himself has tried to bring me back from the cold and also rebuild his own game. At the end of November into December he has been extremely supportive by giving me bankrolls to play, I would build up on cash and also tourneys, after a while he told me that I wasn’t aloud to play cash games as he could see that I didn’t react to tilt well and wasn’t adapting my game. My game was totally flawed. We started playing Mtts and play together, in a space of 9 days we had won a shed load on tribecca. Making 3 final tables of the 20 k in the week also I won him the 5k in the afternoon and also we both played a 36 player 100 freezeout where we ended up getting headsup where at a 2:1 chip lead I offered him a split and only play for 200 buck where we took like 1100 each I think, being the headsup specialist he is and me playing weirdly against a friend (couldn’t cope for some reason) I lost.

After 3 weeks of hard grafting and playing well we got up to top 10 in the leaderboard for the month on VC.

Having been successful for him he decided that he wanted to go to the GPT in Bolton so we both tried to qualify where he was successful and I got screwed over deep twice. He invited me to come to play the 200 and maybe the main event. There is a post on uksp that I will write about the GPT.

I was unsure about going to the GPT at first due to needing to revise for exams. Having had yet another shit Christmas with old friends I thought **** it I'll go to the GPT and also will make the most of it and go and see my old foes in Keele. Having not played well on my own for a while, I decided being around people playing poker with good knowledge would recharge my thinking on the game and only improve how I play poker.

After making a random decision to travel straight from Bridgend to Keele I met up with Ste and Parsy. When I got to Keele I learned a lot about what I need to become to be successful at poker. I needed to be happy and I blatantly needed to be less destructive. Parsy and spoony were giving jibes at my style and poker destruction that were similar to the last time I was there. I hadn’t learned from my mistakes and obviously had just got worse. Without adapting my game learning roll management and not try and get to the top to quickly I wouldn’t be successful. I lost 300 quid in a cash game having played irresponsibly and stupidly as I hadn’t slept and couldn’t or didn’t want to adapt my game when I played live where people could not fold. Having made a lot online that day it seemed like such a waste of money the way I played this cash game in Stoke.

After two days in Stoke I travelled to Bolton to play the GPT. Ill write up later how I bust out having played wellish at times. Also ill write on how I built a roll whilst at Lincoln then travelled back home with a stop off at the best university poker society in the country Warwick

Every day I will post a hand that I find to be intresting today ill post a hand that i played quite brilliantly in my opinion so here it comes .

on the flop once he calls i cant put him on qq or higher as i expect to see a raise here. When the turn pairs the baord i think that my jj are good and my opponents holding has a range of 1010 99 maybe overcard and gutshot maybe flush draw also. I shove allin overbet to represent and overcards and draw play where i hope he calls with 99 or TT. Luckilly he had TT and calls. I think i played it quite well in all fairness
